How Is Home Health Care
Paid For?
Personal care and companionship does not need to be prescribed by a doctor. Home care services can be paid through long-term care insurance, Medicaid or directly by the person receiving care (private pay). However, when specific qualifications are met (when services are ordered by a physician and a clinical assessment), Home Health services are typically paid for by Medicare or private insurance.
